Whatever Life Chux At You

In just over three weeks time, we will be getting on a plane and flying off to start our new life in the UK. It’s crazy that we’re already counting the days now. 6 months ago, this wasn’t even on the cards for us, but I am at that stage now when I can’t wait to leave.

It’s not that I want to leave South Africa, or Africa as a whole at all. It’s more about the fact that I am excited to get to the UK now and to start our new life there. Unfortunately though, circumstances what they are, I am still here. My husband left 3 weeks ago, and it’s been tough without him. Really tough.

People keep asking me, “Are you ready? Are you packed? Is everything sorted?”  Continue reading “Whatever Life Chux At You”

The Best Family Board Games For Kids + Giveaway | #PrimaGamesFest

I was recently asked to review a number of family board games as part of the #PrimaGamesFest sponsored by Prima Toys! I have to admit, I was a bit dubious about this. Whilst I love my girls, my eldest is very competitive. I tend to avoid situations such as board games where I have to manage this. #badmom

Also, my husband is away so I am solo parenting the girls and I wasn’t sure I could handle refereeing the board games on my own. Continue reading “The Best Family Board Games For Kids + Giveaway | #PrimaGamesFest”

LOL Surprise Puzzle and Board Game + Giveaway

For those of you that have been following me for a while, you will know that my girls are LOL Surprise Doll crazy!!!

My eldest more so, but whatever she does, her Lil Sister follows suit. (See what I did there?) She has even made an entire flip file of colouring in pictures of LOL dolls and categorised them into Series 1, 2, and 3, and of course, don’t forget the Glitterati! The obsession is real.

#GirlMomsMeetUp – Was It A Success?

A few months ago, although it feels like yesterday, Charlene, Chanene and I decided to organise an event that was the type of event that we, as moms of girls, would actually want to attend. We wanted it to be focused on us as mothers, and our girls too. We also wanted to learn, discover and explore the market specifically targeting little girls between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. The #GirlMomsMeetUp was formed! You can read more about how this whole concept came about here.

Who Was There?

#GirlMomsMeetUp | Toy Kingdom

Last week I announced the #GirlMomsMeetup that my blogging friends and I had organised! I didn’t give away too much information as we wanted it to be a surprise, and what a super surprise it was! One of the sponsors who were super excited to work with us from early on in our planning was the amazing Toy Kingdom. They invited us and our girls to experience their Build A Bear Workshop at their Toy Kingdom store in Boksburg at the East Rand Mall. The #girlmomsmeetup Toy Kingdom experience was on!

It was epic! For those of you who didn’t read it (shame on you! Kidding!) the idea behind our meet-up is that we, as moms of girls who are no longer babies but are not yet teenagers, needed to get together to see what was out there, and chat about the hot topics we are all facing trying to parenting the future generation of women! Announcing: The #GirlMomsMeetUp

I am so excited to announce the first ever #GirlMomsMeetUp in South Africa.

WHAT?

A few weeks ago I was chatting with a couple of my blogging buddies, Charlene from High Heels and Fairy Tales, and the award-winning Chanene from Tonic & Tiaras, about how we were struggling with some of the requests we were getting from PR companies and brands.

As Influencers we are always grateful when Brands and PRs recognise us. However, so much of the mommy blogger market is dedicated to little kids and babies. And we’re past that! Phew! But in the same breath, our daughters are not teenagers yet either.

We talked about how it didn’t sit right with us to work on products that don’t relate to us and doesn’t correlate to our individual blog’s brands.

We realised that we had stumbled into a little gap in the market. As moms of girls of a specific age group, our focus has shifted. Continue reading “Announcing: The #GirlMomsMeetUp”
