A pinch and a punch for the first of the month and I’m kicking it off with my July Instagram RoundUp which is basically filled with reflections of our first month living in the UK since returning from South Africa.
It’s been a great month, the girls have settled really well, and we are currently enjoying our summer holiday break. Week one has been good, just five more to go. Wish me luck! For now, let’s see which were the most liked pictures in my July Instagram Roundup.
Me and My Buff
Rather embarrassingly, my face made the top 5 this time. I was showing off my personalised buff that I had been given by one of my besties before leaving SA. She had my blog logo printed on it in gold lettering, and I just love it. It was also me showing off what can be done with my appearance when my husbands takes the girls out for a morning and I don’t have to do anything but get myself ready.
Wearing my personalised headband -buff today which was a very special gift from a very special friend who I miss dearly! It has my blog name and logo printed on it in gold lettering. It is absolutely stunning. Originally I was going to use it as a buff when we go biking but today I felt the need to wear it. Since I’m not going biking today – this was my solution. She had two of them made for me before I left SA. This is the cream one. The other one is black. We’ve been in the UK a month yesterday but it feels much longer. . #expatlife #personalisedgifts #friendsacrosstheworld #buff #headband #bloggerstyle #africanexpat
One of my favourite pictures from the month was this one that I took in York last week. We had to go into town to the bank, and unbeknown to me the York Fringe Festival was on. The streets were heaving and the atmosphere was so much fun. When I saw these decorative umbrellas I just knew it was going to be Instagram gold! lol – Yes, once a blogger, everything you see is potential blog material!
The girls and I had an unexpectedly lovely day in York. I got to show them a tiny bit of my life before them, plus the beauty, history and culture that is packed into this tiny walled city! New blog post out later, all about #York, the things we did, the things we still need to do, and making new memories in an old place. . #mumlife #yorkshirebloggers #mummymemories #makingmemories #globalblogging #blogstravaganza
These two little girls did so well at adjusting to their new school, way of life, and just generally being so brave and willing to forge ahead with this new life I have forced them into. Just look how confidently they walk together to school. I most certainly am a proud mum of two little girls.
Being a parent is watching your heart beat outside of your chest. These two have had a very long term and have been so super amazing at dealing with everything they have from leaving their friends -and everything they know and moving across the world to start again … cos mommy said so! I’m so proud of them! One week left and then they can enjoy their first UK Summer Holiday and just chill! . #girlmom #momlife #summerholidays #ukparentbloggers #expatbloggers #expatkids #proudmom #sabloggerscafe
Hopes and Dreams
I’m not sure if it’s the wine, or the notebook, but this picture got a lot more likes than I expected. Or it could be the topic of self-care which is such an important one. We often get so caught up running around our families that we forget to look after ourselves. We all need to make time to take care of us too.
Working on my blog is my #selfcare …it’s my hopes and dreams! . My stunning notebook is from @typo_sa – a gift from @momjustsaying . The wine is @echo_falls … as I count down the hours until we are officially on a well deserved holiday! . Is your blog purely business, or is it your joy and passion too? . #bloggerstyle #mondaymotivation #winetime #thisisme
These two had a great day out on our first day-trip out exploring Yorkshire. It was a trip we’d planned when we still in SA, and it was to celebrate my eldest daughter’s 7th birthday. I can’t believe she is 7 years old! Madness! Anyway, we took them to Bolton Abbey and then on to an ice-cream parlour after. The girls loved Bolton Abbey. I hope we get time to go back again soon, but I do have a whole bucket list of other things we also want to do over the summer holidays.
The girls enjoying a fun day out visiting @boltonabbeyestate . The weather is perfect. Hot but the clouds are blocking the sun’s harsh rays. Last time I was here was around 10 years ago, in winter. So nice to visit in summer! Word of warning – attempt the stepping stones at your own risk!! 😂 . #familyfun #daysoutwithkids #yorkshiredales #yorkshirebloggers #ukparentbloggers
