The LG Sapience Smart Inverter Washing Machine: My Saving Grace!

At the end of last year I was extremely grateful to be given a brand new, 15 kg LG Sapience Smart Inverter washing machine. Grateful is an understatement. I felt blessed and honoured. Thank you LG!

As a Stay-at-home-mom and housewife, I spend a huge amount of time doing the family laundry. Previously I had an 8 kg washing machine which I loved. I won’t lie, that machine worked HARD! Then about four months ago it broke and I had to get it fixed. The replacement parts only came with a three-month guarantee so I felt like I was living on borrowed time.

I can live without any other household appliance, but not my washing machine! I am quite capable of washing my own dishes, or steaming food on the stove instead of the microwave, or even boiling water on a gas braai myself! What I can’t actually do is wash four people’s clothing every day, for the rest of my life. I just can’t. Do you know how many times a day little girls need to change their outfits? School holidays in particular feel like Paris Fashion Week every day!

What Are Its Functions?

The new LG Sapience Smart Inverter washing machine comes with so many different functions. You can choose between a hot, warm or cold wash, you can choose exactly how dirty you think your wash load is, you can choose extra rinse cylces, wool cycles, time delay start etc. I could go on.

The main functions that I really want to highlight to you are as follows:

  • Energy Saving with Smart Inverter Control → Smart Inverter Technology eliminates wasted operation by efficiently controlling energy use.

  • Smart Motion → Smart Motion is 3 kinds of motions created by Smart Inverter for optimized washing by fabric type.

  • Turbo Drum™ → TurboDrum™ enables the most powerful wash and removes even the toughest dirt through strong water stream of rotating drum and pulsator in the opposite direction.

What Do I Really Think?

Over the festive season we had family coming to stay. At one point it almost felt like my front door was a revolving door, which I love. The only thing with people staying over is that I always make sure there is fresh linen on the beds. Then there’s the continual towel washing, not just bath towels but swimming towels too. The other thing is that if you miss a load, you have to play catch-up. Thank goodness for the LG Sapience Smart Inverter washing machine because it meant that I could do more washing per load. Catch-up time was effectively cut in half.

Here is my first ever video review on the blog. It is of the new 15 Kg LG  Sapience Smart Inverter washing machine.

My Favourite Features

  • I love the 36% energy-saving – I really do believe that it has saved me energy (money on electricity), as well as washing powder and fabric softener.
  • It’s really quiet – even on a full load spin cycle I have to listen out for the chime to know when it is finished.
  • The Auto-Restart – let’s face it, in Africa the frequency of power failure is high. With the auto-restart function the machine will pick up the cycle where it left off when the power went out. This really does make it far easier than having to start the whole cycle again, waiting energy, washing powder and potentially damaging clothing.

Tech Info from LG

For more details from LG themselves you can check out the official video: LG Smart Inverter Washing machine. Their video provides more detailed information about how the machine works and how the Smart Inverter functionality means that you don’t have to wait for the machine to have a full load before you do a wash. It really does work just as well on a small load and won’t cause any damage to the machine.

More Bragging

  1. Great review!!

This was such an amazing thing to be a part of. I gifted my 10 month old washing machine to my nanny…. Her sons came to my house to thank me on behalf of the family for giving it to their mom. Getting the washing machine was the highlight of my year, but more so, being able to do something nice for somebody else was a surprising blessing from this ‘product drop’.

    1. Hi Diana, I just want to update you that I am
still waiting for a response from LG. However Inpersonally have noticed a reduction in the amount of water used. I definitely think the more modern machines are better at wTer usage than the older ones.
