I think I’m doing it wrong …

And by ‘it’ I mean ‘parenting’.

“Why?” you ask.

Well, This afternoon I drove my kids to the shops so my eldest could buy sweets with the money left for her last night from the Tooth Fairy. Of course I bought the younger child sweets too.

I’m pretty sure I’m sending at least two mixed messages here though:

  • Your tooth fell out, but let’s go buy sweets;
  • You just got some money, lets go spend it immediately;

Neither of those is great parenting.

    On the plus side I did teach her the following:

    • You don’t have to spend it all at once
    • You can only buy something to the value of the money you have
    • Don’t eat all the sweets at once, save some for later
    • Save what you don’t spend

    I still think I might have failed overall today! Lol

    Oh well, it was her first tooth. She was super excited and so brave. It really did take us all by surprise. Her bottom two have been wiggly for over a month, but it was one of the top ones that just fell out.

    Another milestone to make mention of, my youngest went for her taster swimming lesson today and loved it!!! 😍 Up until a couple of weeks ago she has been terrified of the swimming instructor, more to the point, his beard! Lol Thank goodness she seems to have gotten over it. She can’t wait to go swimming again.

    Both milestones prove the point, never rush a good thing. Everything will come to be when the time is right.

    Anyway, after a hectic day today, both girls were fast asleep by 19.20. Lets see what tomorrow throws at us.

    Until then, it’s wine-o’clock. Cheers! 🍷🍷🍷
