#GirlMomsMeetUp | Toy Kingdom

Last week I announced the #GirlMomsMeetup that my blogging friends and I had organised! I didn’t give away too much information as we wanted it to be a surprise, and what a super surprise it was! One of the sponsors who were super excited to work with us from early on in our planning was the amazing Toy Kingdom. They invited us and our girls to experience their Build A Bear Workshop at their Toy Kingdom store in Boksburg at the East Rand Mall. The #girlmomsmeetup Toy Kingdom experience was on!

It was epic! For those of you who didn’t read it (shame on you! Kidding!) the idea behind our meet-up is that we, as moms of girls who are no longer babies but are not yet teenagers, needed to get together to see what was out there, and chat about the hot topics we are all facing trying to parenting the future generation of women! Announcing: The #GirlMomsMeetUp

I am so excited to announce the first ever #GirlMomsMeetUp in South Africa.

WHAT?

A few weeks ago I was chatting with a couple of my blogging buddies, Charlene from High Heels and Fairy Tales, and the award-winning Chanene from Tonic & Tiaras, about how we were struggling with some of the requests we were getting from PR companies and brands.

As Influencers we are always grateful when Brands and PRs recognise us. However, so much of the mommy blogger market is dedicated to little kids and babies. And we’re past that! Phew! But in the same breath, our daughters are not teenagers yet either.

We talked about how it didn’t sit right with us to work on products that don’t relate to us and doesn’t correlate to our individual blog’s brands.

We realised that we had stumbled into a little gap in the market. As moms of girls of a specific age group, our focus has shifted. Continue reading “Announcing: The #GirlMomsMeetUp”

My March Instagram Round Up

It’s time again for my March Instagram Round Up. This is my monthly series where I share some behind the scenes insights into the top 5 pictures from my Instagram over the past month. Giving away a little more details about what was actually happening at the time the picture was taken, or providing just a little more context and details to the pictures.

I usually do these posts on the last day of the month, but I’ve been a bit busy traveling between Zimbabwe and South Africa so I didn’t get the chance before now. For those who follow me regularly you’ll know I was in Zimbabwe for the past two weeks. Or as I like to call it – “Home”.

It was so good to be there, but very emotional for the girls and I, and my parents there. This will be our last trip to Zim for a while now as we have made the decision to move back to the UK. It was really a ‘farewell’ visit, and just that terminology made us all sad. I’m not going to dwell on that.

The Lekkerlinky Is Open – Episode 8

Welcome back to the Lekkerlinky – episode 8. I’m sorry I’m a day late but I do feel like I have a good excuse. I was traveling for 12 hours straight yesterday from my parents home in Zimbabwe to my home in SA. It was long, tiring and emotional, but thankfully the girls were good as gold. Yes, I suppose I could have scheduled it but then I figured that even bloggers take time out every now and then.

LekkerLinky Badge

Thank you to everyone who linked up on Charlene’s LekkerLinky week 7. We had some awesome reads and I loved the diversity of the range of topics. It is so good to see bloggers from different genres getting involved. My co-hosts Charlene & Jennette and I are exceedingly grateful for your support. My February Instagram Round Up

Can you believe February is over already? How can it nearly be March already? We’ve had a hectic month with school and all the afternoon activities. I love doing these Instagram Round Up posts because it also gives me a chance to reflect on what’s been going on in our lives this past month.

Adjusting to Grade One has been a bit tough, but I’m super proud of my little girl. She’s doing so well. Me, on the other hand – maybe not so well. You can read about it in my post from yesterday about How To Tell If You Are A Grade One Mom

On with the round-up of the most liked and engaged posts from my Instagram over the last month.
