The Migration Generation Podcast

The Migration Generation is a collection of conversations between those who have left South Africa, Zimbabwe, and any of the other Southern African countries, and immigrated to other parts of the world. Not only do I chat to expats who have left already, but I also talk to those who have no intention of leaving and those who possibly left only to return when, for them, the grass wasn’t greener overseas.

I aim to present a balanced view of the issue of migration. Somewhere along the line, people’s freedom to choose where they live has become a very contentious issue. Many people feeling that they are not allowed to voice their own opinions for fear that it will offend everyone! And I can’t have that.

This platform will be used so that those who want to have their say about the immigration issue can do so.

Podcast Release Schedule & Details

Season One – The Migration Generation

The podcast was released on the 7th of January 2020. I initially released the trailer, my introductory story, and then my first interview with Laetitia Corder who left SA to build a new life in New Zealand.

Season Two – The Migration Generation: Living Through A Pandemic

Season Two of The Migration Generation Podcast is in the planning stages. The second season will focus on the lives of expats during the pandemic. How did it affect your life? Where were you in the world? How did your kids manage? All these questions and more. I also hope to get a few people interested in taking part who have immigrated during the pandemic to ask them what that was like and to share their experiences.
